there are nice little parks around this area, with a short walk you are at the train station where public transportation brings you within about 45mins to the central station of brisbane, it has shops and restaurants very close and a big shopping center. It's a nice area but not a party place ;-), there is a Gym very close, beach is with car probably 20 mins
