I stayed a month at Don and Tania’s main house in Hartsdale, NY. It was a great experience and I highly recommend it! I stayed at homestays in different countries in Europe (France, Italy, Switzerland), they were good experiences, but Don’s homestay was the utmost best!

It was my first visit to the US. Staying at Don’s was the best choice I made in this trip. I felt safe and at home. Their house is very comfortable, very organized, very clean all the times, very beautiful and very convenient. The neighborhood is beautiful too, serene, quiet away from the busy noisy life of Manhattan. However Midtown Manhattan is not far, I used to go there very often and it was easily accessible by the train. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to walk to the train station and about 30 minutes in the express train to Grand Central (Midtown Manhattan). It is also very reasonably priced regarding the awesomeness of the hosts and their house and to the overly priced Manhattan.

Don and Tania were very kind, helpful and generous. They are very interesting people. Conversations with them were very engaging, enriching and my vocabulary has certainly increased as well. They traveled the world and they have friends from all over, they are very understanding and very sensitive to cultural differences. They really made me feel at home.

They invited me to several socializing events. The atmosphere was always very cheerful, friendly, multicultural, loving and fun. During these events I met amazing people; their family, friends and other current housemates, and not surprisingly other returning housemates, either those who stayed in Don’s house itself like me or in one of his other houses in NY. I myself, if I ever go back, I would definitely love to stay with them again!

I stayed at Don's and Tatiana's place in Astoria for two months and had a really good time there. Don helped me with a lot of things and showed me around (for example I will never forget the diner he took me to where I had my BEST burger ever). We often went out for breakfast, lunch or dinner and watched good movies together at night (Don is a man of taste). What I also liked very much is that Don established contacts with other host families and their guests so that it was very easy to get to know a lot of nice people from all over the world. Especially at the BBQ parties at Don's and Tatjana's I got to know many friends with whom I later explored NYC or did other things. The house is very nice, tidy and clean, and especially the living room is very spacious and cozy. All in all I am glad I could stay at Don's and Tatjana's because both made my trip memorable! Thank you guys and see you again some time :-)

It was the best idea to life in a family, especially this family. Don and Tatiana are enormous kind. They help you with all your questions you have. And try to figure out the best way for you. They show you everything and try to help you where they can. The house is full of life. You ever meet somebody to talk. I learnt a lot of different cultures from the other students. Don established contacts with other host families and their guests so we had dinner in a big group at different locations. If you are looking for a place where you feel at home, then this family is exactly right for you. I ever would come back to this adorable family.

I had a wonderful time with Tatiana and Don! I came to the US for a three month internship. As soon I arrived Tatiana and Don came to pick me up from the airport and brought me home. They live in a very big and beautiful home. Their home is very clean and comfortable and I can also say the same about the bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen. The couple typically has two or three guests in their home from different countries. It is very nice if you are like me interested in having contact with people from other countries and cultures. The neighborhood is excellent! Their home is very well located; it is nearby to the Metro North Train Station, that I could use to go to Manhattan. There are also good supermarkets, pharmacies, department stores, restaurants and other facilities which were very helpful to me. The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet, which is very good in case you want to rest or study. The home is surrounded by the beauties of nature and the singing of birds. I used to walk around the neighborhood and felt very safe and comfortable. My three months with Tatiana and Don was great! They are very nice and friendly couple. They enjoy spending time with their guests and often host parties for their guests and friends. Tatiana and Don always treated me like a member of the family not as guest or someone that is just renting a part of their home. I can say this made a world of difference to me. It is not easy to be in a different country without your family and friends. Living together became very easy, fun and adorable because I had the company of my wonderful and forever friends Tatiana and Don! Thank you both for your friendship and for all humorous conversations and memorable moments we had together. You will be FOREVER in my heart!

I stayed a month with Don and Tatiana, and although it was my first time in America, they did everything they could to make me feel at ease there. They are both very kind and helpful, and I got to know people from many different countries. We also went out quite often all together. Their house is located is a nice neighborhood, reasonably close to NYC (~33 mins by train). You also have grocery stores and restaurants at walking distance and nice bars in the city nearby. I'm really glad I chose to stay there and highly recommend to anyone else to do so, you definitely won't be disappointed!

I stayed in one of Don’s location in Astoria New York hosted by his niece Carol. The house is very comfortable. It is in a great location. The neighborhood has a little bit 'of everything. The the N & Q Metro Station is a block away and 10 minutes to Grand Central. The hospitality is excellent . You can meet fun people in the house. The kitchen is well equipped, and there are three different size bedrooms to choose from and they all very nice. The atmosphere of the host and guests are filled with joy and laughter. There is also a comfortable garden. You feel like a you are living in a big family. Don and Carol are always available to accommodate all your needs. They enjoy the pleasure of making your new experiences memorable and pleasurable. They often take you around the city in special and traditional places. It was my first time in NYC. I wasn't home a lot because I studied hard during my stay, but if you come for a vacation it's really a nice place to come back to after a day. It’s your home away from home. I had a great time!

I was in New York for three months and lived in one of Don's locations nearby his House in Hartsdale. It’s a great neighborhood adjacent to a commercial street with lots of stores, restaurants and businesses and things to do. On my street corner there is a bus stop that takes you to White Plains in 5 minutes.(White Plains is a mini Manhattan) Across the street there is a bus stop that takes you on an Express bus to Manhattan in one hour. You can also walk 10 minutes and take the Metro North Railroad and take a train to Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan in 35 minutes It was a great time to remember and I felt very welcomed and comfortable with the family Don placed me with. Don always invited me for Dinner or to visit interesting places. Hartsdale is a very nice place to live and I would highly recommend Don's place as well as his locations. Thanks for this great time!

Staying with Don and Tatiana is like staying with families. They are very caring and friendly and I had great time with them. Their home is very clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is very safe and close to Trader Joe and Marshall's, where you can go shopping with walking distance. You won't regret living with them because who doesn't want to live with a loving family.

My experience at Don and Tatiana’s was far the best. It was my first time in this amazing city and I do not regret in the least to have chosen the cozy and lovely home of Don and Tatiana. When I first arrived, they gave me a warm welcome and made me feel like home. They helped me with every little detail that I needed to know and gave me great advice on getting to know the city. The house is gorgeous, with a beatiful backyard surrounded by green trees and squirrels running everywhere. Even though is not located in Manhattan, it has great connectivity to the city. It took me only 30 minutes to get there. After spending a whole day in the city, I loved to get to the house where only the birds or crickets were heard. Don and Tatiana were always planning different activities for us such as dinner parties and road trips so we never got bored or felt lonely. They made me feel part of the family and through them I met amazing people. I got so much more than I thought I would, not only did I make new friends but also I had the opportunity to visit so many beautiful places like Washington DC and Princeton. I will always remember fondly our long conversations with Mom Tatiana where we share life stories and laughed over some funny situation that had occurred. I will never forget you guys and know for sure that I will see you again soon. Thank you for everything!

I stayed with Tatiana and Don in Hartsdale and commuted to work in Midtown Manhattan almost everyday by train. It only took 30 minutes. Hartsdale is a very clean, secure and nice community; where I enjoyed jogging, dining out, going to the gym and shopping. In general you can reach Manhattan from Hartsdale very easily by train. My homestay with the lovely couple was wonderful and I had one of my best times in my life. Both of them continuously try to do everything for you so that you will feel comfortable and adapted quickly to New York living. Moreover, they always invite you to participate in many events and activities they plan weekly. I met so many new friends. Especially Tatiana won my heart with her unique and sunny personality. I have never thought that I could have a second mom. Большое спасибо за замечательное время, Tat! :) And of course many thanks to Don! I stayed with Tatiana and Don in Hartsdale and commuted to work in Midtown Manhattan almost everyday by train. It only took 30 minutes.
